East of Envy picks right up where West of Wicked ends.

Dorothy Gale has been betrayed by Rook, the handsome man she thought had lost his memories and was stranded in a corn field. Come to find out he is in fact the Wonderfully Wicked Wizard of Oz. She is now sitting in the castle of the Witch of the West. This is the second cardinal Witch she has now killed in a very short period of time. However, she is not alone. She is with the same man who was hired to hunt her down and bring her to the Wicked Witch of the West; Tin, the heartless woodsman.

Tin and Dorothy decide to team up and do the unthinkable , take down the Wizard. This is a unthinkable task, one many would deem as a suicide mission.

The longer Dorothy is in Oz, the less she feels like she can return back to her life in Kansas. She is no longer the farm girl who was unsure of who she is and what she wants. She’s growing, changing, and finding her true power.

I was absolutely drawn in and couldn’t let this story go. The character development and growth of Dorothy is brilliantly written. Not only do we get development with Dorothy we see it in our main men Tin and Rook as well.

I love that we finally get more back story for all of our main characters, its enough to get the picture that something else is going on but not so much that it drowns out what is presently going on.

The pacing is on point. There isn’t so much down time between events to where you feel like your just waiting for something to happen.

Everything that they see, talk about, or think to themselves has meaning to the story. Everything feels intentional.

The narrators did an outstanding job! I love that we had such a large cast and character felt personalized.
