Of Fae and Wicked Kings

by Jada McCrary

Gwyn is a human living in a small village, alone and outcasted. Her parents were murdered and her fellow villagers will not speak to her as she associates with the Fae. Rowan is a Seelie Fae who has befriended Gwyn. They decide to take on the mission to speak to the Unseelie Fae King to kindly ask for the Unseelie Fae to stop their attacks on the Seelie Fae and the Humans. The second half of their plan is to hunt down the missing Seelie Fae High Queen, who has been missing.

Gwyn and Rowan didn’t expect the conversation with the High king of the Unseelie Fae to go well. However, what they really didn’t expect was that he would insist on joining them on the quest to find the missing Queen. But, no one can say no to the wicked King Aspen, He’s entirely to powerful to resist. The king has magic like no other Fae, magic that comes around every few hundred years. With that power comes arrogance.

King Aspen likes to antagonize and be flirtatious. Gwyn thinks that King Aspen is hiding something and she’s determined to figure out his motives to join them and figure out what is really going on.

This Novella is a sort story that is to take place before the rest of the Fae-Blessed Series.

The audiobook is a duet the narrators do such an amazing job! They really capture the whole essence of the characters.

The plot moves pretty quickly as it is a novella. It doesn’t feel rushed or like there is anything missing out. Its mentioned towards the end that the full story takes place over about two weeks. In my mind it felt like less time only because they do not account for each day in the story. There are plenty of plot twists and turns to keep it all interesting. However the ending will make you want to read more.

I personally cant wait for the rest of the series to be narrated in audio format as I truly did enjoy how well this was done.
