A Dark Lords Guide to Dating and Other War Crimes

By: Tiffany Hunt

Lord Kazimir Blackrose also known as the Dark Lord needs a bride, one of a specific bloodline. Although there were plenty of eligible woman who did fit this criteria, Kazimir sets his sights on Lady Arabella. Little does he know that she is not a meek noble lady and will not be taken easily.

Little does the Dark Lord know that Arabella has been surviving treacherous men all her life, including her father. She did not have the upbringing of most noble women. She has spent most of her life confined to a tower and treated like property. Just for her father to try to pawn her off on available wealthy suitors. So being abducted by the notorious villain Kazimir Blackrose, wasn’t the shock to her system he thought it would be.
If she was going to be held captive, this time it would be on her own terms.

However, even with Arabella being somewhat compliant. The plans that Kazimir has laid out, don’t go his way. So now he must implement a plan that even he will find challenging…He must date his wife.

This is a dark fantasy romance, where the villain gets the girl, and gets to stay the villain. This book is full of absolutely wonderful banter and sass. As we get a dual POV we see both of our main characters grow into their roles and grow as individuals. As they get closer to each other they discover that neither of them are quite who they thought.

I typically don’t do books that are marketed as having comedy. However, I’m so happy I gave this one a shot. I was giggling all the way through this book and thoroughly enjoyed every moment. I’m not new to rooting for the Villain in a story but this time I was rooting for him from the start. Not only are the main characters fantastic, the supporting cast is as well. I love the dynamics between everyone, and how they are truly a forged family of villainy and darkness.

Not only is this a funny book, the plot itself is fantastic. The whole story moves at a good pace where you can grasp what’s going on but nothing feels like its happening for no reason. The dual POV is also done really well where you don’t get whiplash or feel like your missing parts of the story when you switch. For me this book really checked all the boxes and I am really looking forward to book two. This book does end on a twist that had me instantly wanting more.

Thank you NetGalley and Scarlett Press for the ARC.
