Undead Oaths

Undead Oaths is book #2 in the Undead gods trilogy.

Book two picks up right where we left off in book one. Elysia is with Aiden, the god of the dead. Now not only is she making a deal to save her kingdom, but she is making a deal to save the death lands as well.

However, a deal between a mortal and a god have gone wrong in the past. That’s why everyone is in this mess anyways, right? We come to find out there is a bit more to the story of the deal between Aiden and Garrison.

As Elysia takes on her new mission, she comes to find out the fates are not ones to be easily dealt with. As she takes on this death voyage she comes to find out that not only did Aiden keep a few facts from her , so did the fates. She comes to find out that there is a time limit on this voyage , and when time is up, her time is up as well.

While she is now worried about her own mortality, she comes to find out that the soot taking over the kingdom is now slowly taking the life of her sister. She feels the pressure of time weighing on her. She hopes if she can fix magic, maybe she can heal her sister. She will try anything.

while Elysia travels the mortal realms to search for the talisman; friends are made, alliances are forged, and secrets are unraveled.

The character growth that happens with all the main characters, and even the “side characters” was done in a natural progression where nothing seemed forced or unnatural.

There is more in-depth knowledge about magic and how it differs from person to person and god to god. Also , a bit more on how the gods and the fates operate. Thanks to a lesson with Grim we also get some background on how the Volt work as well.

The plot moves along at a steady pace as well. Elysia does quite a bit of traveling from the death lands to the mortal realm, so we get to see more of both realms and how they function.

The ending was amazing, you can tell that book three is going to start off with some pretty big plot progression from both realms. The little surprise from Grim at the end was perfect and I’m excited to see how his new work arrangement plays out as well.

Ill be anxiously awaiting book three!
