Dark Fates Novel- Book One

T.C. Kraven

Persephone, the daughter of Zeus and Demeter, Goddess of Spring, struggles in solitude, only having Artemis to confide in, and even then she’s not completely being honest. Demeter demands perfection, and instills on her time and time again that she is a direct reflection of her mother. Demeter keeps Persephone hidden in the Upper Realm, Never going to Olympus , and having very little contact with other Gods and Goddesses.

Her life changes all at once when she meets Hades, God of the Underworld. She knows very little of him, only stories told by her mother, that did not paint him in a good light. However the more they talk, the more they both realize that they are not so different from each other. As they grow closer, they don’t want to be apart. They both feel a connection that is new to them. However, one day Persephone finds out that she is to be married off to a Titan, so that the power in the upper realm can grow.

For the first time she stands up for what she wants and who she wants. She calls on Hades to take her to the underworld, and become his Queen.

The Goddess of New Life is now also the Queen of the Underworld, and her powers become far greater than any one could have ever imagined.

This spicy retelling of Hades and Persephone, tells the tale of a shy wallflower come in to her own and blossom into the powerful goddess the fates intended her to be. This forbidden romance is a story that has been told through the ages, reimagined in a light that is empowering and steamy.

This is book one of the Dark Fates series, and sets off a chain of events that will shake up the life that the Olympians have come to know.

I really enjoy the representation of the LGBTQ+ community done in a way that truly felt natural and not forced.

We get some truly raw emotions and although they are gods and can legit level the earth, they are written in a way that feels relatable to the reader.

I do love how this ended, it sets up for book 2 in a way that isnt just an instant fix or a happy ending. It gives us hope and eagerness to pick up book two immediately.

Thank you NetGalley and RBmedia | Recorded Books for the ALC.
