M. Stevenson
Bianca has always put her duty before everything. She knows this is no different when it comes to love. With the treat of war on the horizon, the only way to put a stop to it is to enter in to an arranged marriage with the heir of the neighboring kingdom, Prince Aric.
Bianca didn’t want this marriage, however its the way to keep her people safe. This was no happily ever after, or a dream wedding for her. The prince isn’t her idea of Prince charming or her Knight in shining armor. The icing on the wedding cake is, during the wedding night, there is an assassination attempt. This is an attempt because instead of death, there is a horse.
As Prince Aric is transformed into a horse, Bianca does the only sensible thing , she mounts her new husband and rides him to safety. Not quite what she saw coming for her wedding night. Now Bianca is wanted for the murder of her now husband Aric.
When sunset comes, Aric returns to his human form. By day a Horse and by Night a Man. Aric and Bianca must work together to protect the throne.
This wonderful entertaining book is full of horse puns, and delightful banter. We also get a wonderful representation of chronic illness that does not belittle the character or make her any less of a badass. The opposites attract trope is strong with this one, but in a way that will make you feel giddy. Speaking of tropes there are a few of our fan favorites here. like one bed and enemies to lovers.
This is a cozy whimsical fantasy, that is a perfect read for some one dipping their toes into fantasy and those who have been in the fantasy book world for some time looking for a book that will make you smile, laugh and giddy all over.
