Volume one of Team Phoenix is a high energy , battle between Biologicks and Robots. Team phoenix is composed of some quite unique and well written characters. We start off with meeting Sapphire, who is living not as their real self, fighting for a cause she does not believe in. When the king is killed, Sapphires’ whole world changes.

Sapphire joins a team of other Biologicks and ends up on a new world where we meet Fire. This is where our story really starts to jump off. When Sapphire and team join up with Fire on her world they see the Robots and Biologicks living together and working together in peace. While the team is meeting new friends, Fire is excited that the drawing shes been working on, “the map” This is no ordinary map that she has been working on, its a “map to change it all”. We dont know where she is getting the compulsion to draw this map from.

We end with all the people she needs for her map to work, gathering together, this is where the real story starts.

The Volume starts off with action and keeps the pace going through the story. The characters are still being introduced and the plot is just starting. It feels very much like we are just getting the team together to start to build a plan. We still have yet to get the full explination on what Fire thinks her map is for and whats needed for it to work.

It was a very easy and enjoyable read. The character designs are all unique and play in to the actual characters themselves. The world building is simple and builds on itself as we go through the story line.

If your new to manga Team Phoenix would be a great introduction , If you were a fan of AstroBoy this will be something you will enjoy as well.

Im ready to start volume two to get this adventure started!
