Sheltering Eaves Volume One

Rie Aruga

Yoru was sent to a group home at the age of ten after her mother abused her this is where she met Tenjaku. The two of them became fast friends.
They are now entering highschool and have to plan on moving out in one year when they age out of the group home. Tenjaku is working part time jobs while trying to also get a sports scholarship. Yoru is worried about leaving her found family and being on her own. Even more than that she’s worried about losing Tenjaku.

We see that she is not just worried about leaving a friend, but some one she has grown to care for as more than a friend. When the two of them are faced with a big twist at the end, their friendship and feelings start to become more apparent to the reader, and hopefully to each other.

This is sad and heart warming all at the same time. Where these kids really do go through tragic childhoods they also find a friendship with each other and families that have their backs.

The art is beautify and really helps present the story in a way that draws in the reader.
