Maddie is book one of the Vampires in wonderland series.
Maddie is trying to rescue her sister Mouse from the Queen of Hearts. Maddie and her friend Ferris attempt to break mouse out, when their plan goes wrong, Mouse is left in the castle. However Ferris escapes with another hostage, Alice.
Alice was turned vampire by Rav the Queen of Hearts boyfriend. Ferris brings Alice to Maddie. However the castle has noticed that Alice , is missing. Maddie brings Alice back to her home and thats when they run into her brother Noah. Things go amiss when they are attacked. Maddie brings Noah and Alice to a safe house where they plot a plan to try to reverse and cure Alice, but can it be done? There are rumors that its true but its dangerous.
Noah vows to save Alice, so Noah and Maddie go out to find a cure.
Can they save Alice, will Mouse ever be free?
This story is a fantastic fresh new wonderland retelling. Vampires, werewolves, royal rivalry, found family, and an unlikely romance. All this and more.
I loved this book and the whole series ( i will add reviews on those as well ).
I was so invested in this whole story , the pacing is great, Amber and Candace are fantastic at not adding to much fluff or filler in to the story where its not needed. After reading the other books i can tell you a lot of what is mentioned is intentional even if you don’t know it right away.
The bonds that they share and the bonds that are made in this are the best sort of found family vibes.
The romance is definitely there and it does get spicy, but its not the whole story. I love a good spicy romance but this story even without those parts would still be a great book.
I read this on KU but ended up buying the physical copies for my shelves so i can re read them any time i want.
